In
the ratings for the annual Randstad/ICMA
Prize for the ‘Most Attractive Employer', Janssen
Pharmaceutica was ranked among
the top three for the fourth year running. |
 |
The prize
was awarded on the basis of a broad survey of 8000
Belgians aged 18 to 65 years. The following question
was put to them: ‘If you were looking for a job,
what company do you consider as being the most
attractive employer?' The companies from which
they could choose were pre-selected on the basis
of the size of their workforce (at least 1000 strong)
and the extent to which they are known.
When the award was inaugurated in 2001, IBM won
first prize. Janssen Pharmaceutica was tops in
2002, Pfizer in 2003, and GlaxoSmithKline in 2004.
Janssen Pharmaceutica is the only company so far
that has made it to the top three every year. In
the view of Janssen itself, the achievement is
due largely to the image it enjoys as a company
that attaches a huge importance to innovation and
social vision. In addition, the scope of the Human
Resources policy has been significantly expanded
and now emphasizes programs dedicated to training
(3% of working time), diversity, balance between
work and home life, and opportunities for personal
development.
Janssen Pharmaceutica is part of Johnson & Johnson ,
the most comprehensive healthcare company in the
world.
By pure coincidence, yesterday Johnson & Johnson
was chosen as the company with the best reputation
in the United States, and this for the fifth consecutive
year. The survey on the basis of which Johnson & Johnson
was awarded this honor is conducted by Harris Interactive
and is commissioned by the Reputation Institute
and the Wall Street Journal. It was based on the
responses of 6000 people, collected by e-mail or
telephone. UPS placed second and Coca-Cola third.
Johnson & Johnson and Mircrosoft led the list
of 60 companies for the six dimensions incorporated
into the Reputation Quotient. In addition to achieving
the highest global score, Johnson & Johnson
was ranked first for the following criteria: emotional
attractiveness, product quality, and social responsibility.
Microsoft placed first for financial results, vision
and leadership, and attractiveness of the workplace.
