Science Magazine publishes
the survey results in its October issue.
Beerse, October 8, 2002 – Science
Magazine, the leading journal for scientists,
conducted a survey among its own readers asking
which companies made the best employers and why.
The Top Three
Genentech, Millennium Pharmaceuticals
and Johnson & Johnson make up the top tier.
The first two are young companies specializing
in biotechnology. Johnson & Johnson is placed
third in the survey as first of the traditional
pharmas. The company holds high grades for the
attributes “social responsibility”,
“a good financial investment” and
“work and personal values are aligned”.
Confirmation of R&D Management
Within Johnson & Johnson, Janssen Pharmaceutica
holds an important position. The research department
in Beerse represents 36% of the global R&D
employment, and an investment of 775 million Euros
in 2001.
